Following in the Footsteps of Edward II

A Historical Guide to the Medieval King

New Paperback Illustrated

Postscript summary

Edward II was an unconventional and unsuccessful monarch, whose rule of almost 20 years ended when he became the first English king to be deposed. This book tells his story through the sites – palaces, fortresses, colleges and abbeys – which formed the backdrop to key moments in his life, from his birth at Caernarfon Castle in 1284 to his incarceration and supposed brutal murder at Berkeley Castle in 1327.
