The Life of Christina of Hane

New Hardback Illustrated

Postscript summary

Originally written in medieval Mosel Franconian (containing forms of both High and Low German) and translated, with an introduction and notes by Professor Kirakosian, this unusual hagiography describes the visions, the mortifications of the flesh, the ‘competition’ with the Virgin Mary, and the union of soul and God, in the life of Christina of Hane (c.1269–1292), the only known female mystic of the Premonstratensian Order.
