During the Second World War, to undermine the Allies’ economies, the Nazis forged large numbers of pound and dollar notes. The work was carried out by inmates of Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Adolf Burger, a Slovakian Jew, was transferred there from Auschwitz, where his wife Gisela was murdered. One of the few survivors, he tells his story as a warning to future generations.
