Rock Concert

A High-Voltage History, from Elvis to Live Aid

New Paperback Illustrated

Postscript summary

The twenty-minute set by the support act to the Beatles at Shea Stadium is little remembered but the recollections of Sounds Incorporated’s drummer are included in this history of the development of the rock concert. From early 1950s R&B concerts to the stadium sound and light extravaganzas of the 1980s, the anecdotes of promoters, musicians, audio engineers and journalists tell the story.
