The Psalms of the Return
Book V, Psalms 107-150
This is the fourth volume of Goulder's Studies in the Psalter in which he argues that the psalms should be interpreted in line with their place in the Psalter. Here, he deals with Book V (Psalms 107-150), reordering its three sub-divisions as: the Songs of the Ascents and Nehemiah (120-134); Psalms 107-119 and the reconstruction of the Temple; and Psalms 135-150 and Ezra. Translations are given in the Revised Version margin (1881). Journal for the Study of the New Testament
The Synoptic Gospels
This volume brings together three works from Sheffield's acclaimed New Testament Guides series. The guides to Matthew, Mark and Luke by Riches, Telford and Tuckett respectively are presented in their entirety along with a general introduction by Scot McKnight which illuminates the distinctive historical and theological features of the Synoptic Gospels as a whole and their importance within the New Testament canon.
Sex These Days
Essays on Theology, Sexuality and Society
What has been lost and what has been gained in replacing the sexual orthodoxy of heterosexual procreative monogamy with the 'heresies' of postmodern sexualities? In this volume, nine writers look first at the present 'pornotopia' in which the goal of sex is no longer procreation but self-satisfaction, discussing how it has come to dominate Western societies and its consequences for social life. Part two looks to the future in discussions of topics including chastity, celibacy, sexual difference and homosexuality.
