Continuing the work begun by HE Salter, this volume edits the Council Acts from 1626 to 1665, condensing entries and omitting leases of properties apart from references to colleges and those of particular interest. The book has a preface dealing with the history of Oxford, especially during the years of the Civil War, and the appendices include extracts from the annual accounts of the Chamberlain and Key Keepers, and the town clerk’s notebook.
