Weirdos, Misfits and Deviants – The Rise and Fall of Righteous Rock ’n’ Roll

New Hardback

Postscript summary

Founder member of the Auteurs and Black Box Recorder Luke Haines blends anecdote, memoir and a knowledge of the world of rock ‘n’ roll in this celebration of those musicians he considers to be the freaks, those who ‘should never settle for anything as underwhelming as being a cult hero… [but] should really have their sights set on being a cult leader’. Writing with passion and often acerbic in tone, he builds a personal manifesto to explain a selection that finds a place for artists as diverse as Gene Vincent, Hank Marvin and Billie Eilish.
