Steve Whitfield – Operations Director

Born and raised in Yorkshire, I started off my career as a joiner and became a factory manager at the age of 21, before moving into Logistics and qualifying as an electrician a few years later. Then life threw a bit of a curveball – a job opportunity in sunny Devon! Reluctantly bidding farewell to my beloved Yorkshire puddings and a fine cup of tea, I started a new adventure in the beautiful Southwest. Armed with my budgeting prowess and a keen eye for bargains, I was ready to tackle the higher living costs of Devon. From scouting out the best thrift shops to finding affordable ways to explore the stunning countryside, I was determined to make my Yorkshire wallet go that extra mile in the land of cream teas and sandy beaches. I’ve now spent a third of my working life at Postscript Books, and in my free time enjoy following football, walking the dog, paddleboarding, kayaking, camping but most of all spending time with my family. I’m also a governor at a local college, and acquired the name ‘Steve the Pasty Man’ while supporting a local charity.
