Neil Baber – Writer

Neil Baber found his way into publishing via music, discovering an aptitude for the new-fangled Apple Mac while working on an arts magazine for young people. Moving on to produce concert programmes for the LSO, he then made the switch to books at Phaidon Press and later David and Charles, working on titles ranging from photography to popular history. After 20 years of commissioning and editing he turned to teaching, freelancing and other projects and is now course leader of Publishing at Bath Spa University. He pursues his passion for book history, printing and design through this and his greetings card and stationary company, The Pattern Book, which specializes in resurrecting interesting and neglected graphics and artworks, mostly from old books.
