I’ve always been inclined to fix things or take them apart to figure out how they work – I still remember my parents’ reaction when I decided to take apart our first computer (A Commodore 64) at age 7 in the vein hope of figuring out what made it tick. That same curiosity has fueled my career in IT and Ecommerce – there’s always a problem to solve or something to dismantle, even if only metaphorically, to keep the inner 7-year-old happy.
I find myself some 30+ years older as IT Director of Postscript Books fixing complex cloud infrastructures and taking apart ERP systems although my focus is building an exceptional experience for you, our customer. Another tendency that didn’t hit me until my teenage years is an obsession with travel, transport, and adventure. Amongst the crime fiction, thrillers, and boring IT tomes my bookshelves at home are full of travel guides, car workshop manuals and flight training books. My adventurous side peaked a few years ago when I decided to get a pilot’s license – one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as flying has become a big part of my life.
Whilst I’m relentlessly attempting to fix everything or trying not to get lost while exploring, my life is shared with my wonderful (patient) wife and 3 cats.
