August Bournonville was one of the few choreographers who kept written records of his ballets, and even devised his own system of notation to do so. Following meticulous research Knud Arne Jürgensen has used those notes to reconstruct 24 dances that were previously forgotten, including variations from La Sylphide and A Folk Tale, recorded in Labanotation in this volume.
