This is one of a series of photographic poster books documenting the people, landscape and architecture of Italy in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Italo Zannier introduces the portfolio of 24 large and 26 smaller images, all sepia prints from the original glass negatives. The earliest taken around 1890, these images of Venice include back streets as well as the Grand Canal, and St Marks Square with the Campanile reduced to rubble. Italian/German text.
