The Tomb of Tutankhamun
Available in Stock
In November 1922 Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun's virtually intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings, sparking huge interest and changing the public perception of archaeology overnight. Now Carter's own account of the process of opening and investigating the tomb is republished in two volumes.
In the second volume Carter tells how he discovered the burial chamber and broke through to the four protective shrines. Descriptions and photographs of the king's bejewelled mummy, his sarcophagus, coffins and other treasures complement the narrative.
