The Tomb of Tutankhamun
Available in Stock
In November 1922 Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun's virtually intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings, sparking huge interest and changing the public perception of archaeology overnight. Now Carter's own account of the process of opening and investigating the tomb is republished in two volumes.
In the first volume, Carter describes years of frustration before the tomb's location was finally identified, then 'the exhilaration of discovery', preliminary investigations and the painstaking survey of the antechamber's contents. This reprint includes the short article that inadvertently spawned the legend of Tutankhamun's curse.
