The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists
Sorry, this item is now out of stock.
Written in 1906 by Robert Tressell (1870–1911), an impoverished house painter, but published posthumously in 1914, this novel has since become a classic of working class literature. It tells of the appalling working conditions of a group of painters and decorators and their struggle to survive, while interweaving a manifesto for socialism. The book is read, unabridged, by David Timson.
