Last Days of Steam on the Midland Region
Sorry, this item is now out of stock.
The Midland Region was the last to finally phase out steam in 1968 with three Lancashire sheds, Carnforth, Lostock Hall (near Preston) and Rose Grove (near Burnley), surviving to the end. This collection of more than 150 colour photographs shows locomotives in action around the region in the mid- to late 1960s, many of the images taken at the sheds in the very last week of operations. The final chapter captures preserved engines and enthusiasts' specials in more recent times.
