Scottish comedian Chic Murray came to prominence in the late 1940s as part of a variety double act with Maidie Dickson, sometimes known as 'The Tall Droll and the Small Doll' (he was 6'3" and she 4'11"). He went on to become a much-loved character actor with notable film roles in the 1967 version of Casino Royale and Gregory's Girl in 1981. Billy Connolly provides the foreword to this biography.
