At Work in Paris
Sorry, this item is now out of stock.
Determined to develop his career as a sculptor, Raymond Mason arrived in Paris in 1946. These affectionate writings and drawings chronicle his experiences in the centre of European Modernism and his impressions of the many great artists, dealers and writers he met there, including Picasso, Balthus, Francis Bacon, Giacometti, Pierre Matisse and Jean Cocteau. Mason also vividly recreates the bustling and occasionally vicious social life of the Parisian art world as it re-awoke from the long misery of occupation.
