The Apache Wars
Available in Stock
In 1861, twelve-year-old Felix Telles was kidnapped by an Apache raiding party from his family’s ranch in Arizona Territory, triggering some of the worst fighting in the Apache Wars. Raised as an Apache, Telles eventually became a US Army Apache Scout known as Mickey Free (‘half-Irish, half-Mexican, but all son-of-a-bitch’). Free’s story provides the theme for this history book, which is peopled with formidable contemporaries including Kit Carson, George Crook, Geronimo and the Apache Kid. Off-mint, American-cut pages and felt-tip mark on lower trimmed edge.
