Abbo of Fleury (c.945-1004), who taught at Ramsey Abbey, wrote numerous didactic works, the most wide-ranging of which is his philosophical Commentary on the mathematical tables produced five centuries earlier by Victorius of Aquitaine to facilitate calculations using Roman numerals and fractions. This edition provides the Latin text of both Victorius and Abbo, with a detailed discussion of the manuscript sources, a summary of each section of Abbo's work and a glossary of technical terms.
