Unpublished until 1930, these are Marx's earliest known writings on philosophy and economics. Also known as the 'Paris Manuscripts' they were written in France and heavily influenced by Ludwig Feuerbach. The Manuscripts discuss issues of profit, private property and money and contain Marx's first elaboration of the Hegelian concept of 'alienation'. This 1981 edition, printed in the USSR, reprints the first English translation of 1959.
