In 1925 a group of Cambridge antiquarians set off with car and cameras to revive a project started in 1904: a photographic survey of the county, recording both buildings and a way of life already starting to disappear. Historian Mike Petty has made a selection from that survey, and presents images of streets, cottages, churches and market places now vanished - among them the mounds of St Stephen's castle at Burwell, a bonfire celebrating the Relief of Mafeking and 29 windmills.
