Carl F Flesch (1910-2008) was the son of renowned German violinist Carl Flesch, so as a child he came into contact with some of the greatest musicians who worked in 1920s and 1930s Berlin. In this 1990 book he combines his own reminiscences of this period with excerpts from his father's Memoirs and much previously unpublished material preserved in his archive - especially letters from such figures as Artur Schnabel, Joseph Joachim and Wilhelm Furtwangler. Slightly off-mint.
