American photographer Jim Marshall started photographing musicians in the 1950s, moving to New York in the 1960s, where he hung out with jazz, blues and folk artists, gaining the trust that he cites as the reason he has been able to capture such candid and revealing images over the years. This celebration of his work collects the best of his photographs, which are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s and feature such legends as Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones.
