Better known as Lewitt-Him, Jan Le Witt (1907-1991) and George Him (1900-1982) met in Warsaw in 1933 and were already a graphic design duo when they arrived in Britain in 1937. Working together for some 20 years, they brought their innovative use of strong colour, abstraction and symbolism to commissions ranging from public information posters to children's book illustration.
This book, part of the award-winning Design series of introductions to some of the great names in British book design, illustration and typography, presents a concise and exceptionally well-illustrated essay on the career of Lewitt-Him in Britain.
