A master builder of the 19th century, George Myers (1803-1875) directed a nationwide business, building everything from army camps to cathedrals, but he was best known as 'Pugin's builder', working on most of the famous Gothic revivalist's commissions. First published in 1993, this was the first study of Myers; reissued now in a revised edition, the book illuminates not only Myers and his world, but also his relationship with Pugin and his role in the Catholic Revival in England.
