When not playing his horn, Louis Armstrong was often busy with scissors and Scotch tape, assembling collages of photos, posters, reviews and mementos in scrapbooks and on the covers of reel-to-reel tape boxes. Full of humour and artistry, they form an extraordinary self-portrait. Over 160 collages are reproduced here, along with Steven Brower's biographical commentary, many other photographs, quotes from Satchmo himself, and a timeline of his career. Published in association with the Louis Armstrong Archives and Foundation.
