The second volume of Strong's trilogy (part three due in 2013) takes us from the late 1970s, where 'folk music had the stuffing kicked out of it by the advent of punk and new wave', through the genre's swift revival via emerging 1980s acts such as Billy Bragg and The Waterboys, up to the present day.
